This graph shows the variation in the earth's temperature over the past 800,000 years.  Climate change has always been a part of the earth's ecology.  While destructive to humankind, it is a healthy part of the earth's life cycle, like hurricanes, volcanic activity, natural fires and such.  Species go extinct or emerge as a result.   Recently, however, human kind's impact has become increasingly significant.
